"

I loved my yin training with Cal, it breathed new life into all my teaching. I felt confident to go out and start teaching yin straight away. I use all the tools I have been given to plan classes around meridians, the Five Elements and TCM which is fascinating to both me and my students.

Sequencing
Learn to sequence classes that take into consideration your students physical, mental and emotional condition by applying your knowledge of meridians and chakras to the manipulation of the myofascial lines.

Chinese Medicine
Yin yoga is based on the wisdom and theory of Chinese Medicine. Chinese medicine is an energetic practice and teaches us that Qi underlies all of our functioning. It is this intelligent life force which warms, moves, transforms, and protects everything in our bodies and minds. This module will dive deeper into this ancient philosophy and medicine and reveal how certain patterns, behaviours and habits play out in every part of life. The Five Elements are the energetic substances or processes out of which the world is made. Each element is defined as having a set of associations. This module will allow you to see, feel and identify with the emotional, physiological, and mental aspects of the Five Elements, the 10 organs, and the 12 channels. You will gain an insight and understanding into the ancient practice and wisdom of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Practice, and apply this to Yoga both on and off the mat.

The Meridian Lines
Discover where the meridian lines are located and what their physical, mental and emotional qualities are. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), emotions influence the way Qi moves through the meridians. This module will teach you the mental, emotional and physical qualities of the organ meridians, and you’ll learn how to manipulate and release emotional residue through Yin Yoga. We will also look at the asanas that create healthy movement of Qi through specific organ meridian pairs. and construct sequences that directly impact common ailments.

▸ To understand the fundamental premises behind Chinese Medicine

▸ To understand the concept of Qi, Yin and Yang and the Five Elements

▸ To apply the ancient philosophy and wisdom to yoga on and off the mat
