Welcome to PYC, our little sanctuary in South West London. The perfect place for both beginners and seasoned yogis to explore Yoga – time to recharge, energise and transform.

When you’re new to Yoga, it’s normal to feel a bit apprehensive… we’ve all been there! With the guidance of our experienced teachers, you’ll feel safe and confident on your mat. After your first few classes you’ll wonder how you ever lived without Yoga!

PYC is a place to play, stretch and sweat. Let go of how flexible or strong you think you could or should be… be kind to yourself and have fun!  

PLAN YOUR FIRST VISIT

We can’t wait to welcome you.

All you need to bring is comfy clothing and a towel. We have all the rest: mats, blocks and bolsters to borrow free of charge, plus a fridge stocked with healthy refreshments and treats for after class.

When you arrive, buzz yourself into the building and head upstairs to reception. Once in the studio, let the teacher know that it’s your first class and they will guide and assist you throughout.

Are there showers / lockers?

We have showers for men and women. Complimentary organic shower products are available at reception and there are hairdryers and straighteners in the changing rooms. Single-use, eco-friendly towels can be purchased at the studio.

Leave your valuables in the pigeon holes at reception.

I’m not flexible, can I do Yoga?

Yes! Flexibility is a product of Yoga, not a prerequisite. We all start at the beginning. Be patient and compassionate - you’ll be amazed at how much your flexibility improves.

Under 16, what class to join?

Yoga does wonders for growing bodies and emotional balance, while improving confidence and concentration. We have 3 teen classes a week for yogis aged between 12 and 16 years old. For younger children we offer weekly classes for groups aged 4-7 and 8-12 years old.

I’m new, which class is best for me?

Our Level 1 classes are specifically for beginners and are a great place to start. We also regularly run beginners’ courses and workshops; keep an eye on our schedule and events page for more info.

We also recommend trying some of our more gentle classes: Yin, Restorative, Hatha Yoga and Meditation will ease you in, giving you a broader taste of yoga and its benefits.

Are the rooms heated?

A state of the art infrared system keeps our Prana studio heated at a comfortable 25℃. This promotes good health and supports supple movement. Keep toasty in the changing rooms too with underfloor heating.

What should I bring/wear?

Comfortable, light fitness wear is essential. If you plan on borrowing a studio mat we recommend either bringing a mat towel or buying one at the studio.

Do I need to book?

We advise booking your class online to avoid disappointment. Please be aware of our 2 hour cancellation policy; you will be charged for the class if you book and don’t turn up, or fail to let us know less than 2 hours before the class.

I have back pain / an injury, can I do Yoga?

So many people turn to Yoga to find relief from pain or injury. Let the teacher know so they can offer you modifications or alternatives to poses. Take it slowly to help your body heal. Also try our restorative and yin classes and workshops, which are especially beneficial.

What if I’m pregnant?

We have 2 pregnancy Yoga classes a week with Lulu, our very experienced pregnancy Yoga guru. Lulu also leads 2 weekly post-natal classes, so you’re in good hands for each step of your journey.
