MEET DONNA NOBLE

At PYC you can always be assured you are in safe hands, whether you’re new to Yoga or have been practicing regularly for years. When recruiting Yoga teachers, we make sure to scout only the best who have sincere passion.

Which is why we’re excited to announce the latest member of the Power Yoga Co. family: Donna Noble!

Like us, Donna believes in the beneficial wellbeing power of Yoga. She also believes that everybody is a yogaBODY!, whoever you are, regardless of size, age, colour or gender, there is something for everybody to try when it comes to Yoga.

“Yoga isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. It really can be adapted to all body types. There is a basic outline and alignment for each posture, but it’s also about listening to your own body, and adjusting for it without judgment, bringing about self-acceptance and self-love. Yoga allows you to be flexible both in the mind and body, accepting the body that you have on the mat at that moment in time.”

HER JOURNEY

Donna’s Yoga journey started in the late 1990s after her colleague saw the iconic photo of Madonna with her leg behind her head in Eka Pada Sirsana and suggested they give Yoga a try. Like many, Donna enjoyed trying the different styles of Yoga, eventually settling into regular practice after finding a few styles that truly resonated with her.

Whilst always enjoying Yoga, Donna’s true passion was ignited when it helped her heal from the trauma of Bell’s Palsy. After waking up one day, Donna discovered that the right side of her face had become paralysed.

Both Yoga and acupuncture helped her regain her strength – both mentally and physically. Witnessing firsthand how her body recovered organically made Donna understand the power a regular Yoga practice gave her.

It was this pivotal moment that kickstarted Donna’s journey of self-acceptance and self-love. She began to love her body for all the wonderful things it was capable of doing for her, even in the moments where she didn’t appreciate it.

“Yoga is for everybody. This simple, but true, statement sums up the great practice of yoga; it makes no judgments about size, ability, gender, or race. Yes, it’s a wonderfully inclusive phrase, but goes deeper than that – it actually brings about transition, and brings you back home to who you truly are.”

The peace and serenity found on the mat allowed Donna to create a powerful mind-body connection and encouraged her to intuitively listen to her body more. Yoga gave Donna the clarity to go with the flow of life – which is why she left her corporate life and embraced Yoga full time.

As she immersed herself more fully in the Yoga world, Donna began to challenge societal expectations, becoming a body positive and social justice advocate. As the founder of Curvesomeyoga her mission is to evolve the image of yoga to make it more diverse and inclusive. She creates safe, judgement free spaces where everyBODY will feel welcomed to enjoy the transformational benefits of yoga regardless of their shape, size, gender, ethnicity or ability.

Donna is a valued leader on our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Programme where she heads up the Diversity & Inclusion curriculum.
