Dharma Yoga Workshop with Alix Inness

Developed by Sri Dharma Mittra, Dharma Yoga will challenge and inspire you. Strong yet graceful, this physically absorbing yoga practice encourages you to experience the practice as an active form of meditation, and on a deeper level, explore the spiritual aspects of yoga.
The workshop will be structured so as to enable you to learn to slowly quiet the mind, withdraw the senses, concentrate and have some experience of the higher limbs of Yoga. We will start with some purification and breathing (pranayama) techniques. The physical practice will ignite the entire bodily system, stretch and strengthen all areas of the body. It will be a complete asana practice, including balancing, back-bending, twisting, hip-opening and inverted poses.
The last part of the workshop will be a 30-minute Yoga Nidra. It is a form of deep relaxation leading to complete relaxation and a form of active meditation. Throughout the practice you will slowly move deeper into each layer of your being, the koshas, or sheaths. Yoga Nidra will be a wonderful way to finish your Sunday, feeling completely relaxed, energised and rejuvenated.
